Description

• Potassium sorbate is used in baking to inhibit the growth of mold, yeast, and microbes, in turn increasing shelf life of baked food products.
• It is used in baking as a preservative without altering the nature of the food.

It can extend the shelf life of various baked goods: Breads cakes, doughnut mixes, fillings, doughs, muffins, tortillas, etc. Its granules usually need to be pre-dissolved in water before inclusion in the batter.
